The origins of the Corpus lie in Dr. Albornoz’s 1,100-page doctoral thesis, Critical Biography of Sister Lúcia de Jesus Rosa dos Santos in Light of Her Correspondence (1921–1957) — a foundational work of historical-positivist research in the classical tradition of Langlois and Seignobos.
This study established the methodological and documentary foundations that sustain the entire project.
At the heart of the Corpus stands the Bibliotheca Fatimologica, founded and developed by Dr. Albornoz, the largest and most comprehensive private library on Fátima worldwide.
It gathers, preserves, and classifies critical editions, rare publications, and essential sources, forming the indispensable base for all ongoing and future volumes.
Complementing this documentary mission, the Corpus publishes the bimonthly monograph-journal Studia Critica Fatimae, which disseminates research findings, analytical essays, and critical editions — serving as the dynamic and periodic arm of the project.
In parallel, the Corpus includes the historical reconstruction of the original statue of Our Lady of Fátima, modeled by Thomas McGlynn under the direct guidance of Sister Lúcia in 1947 — the only sculptural representation personally supervised by a Fátima seer.
This unique reconstruction, the result of a year-long historical and artistic investigation conducted and executed by Dr. Albornoz with the curatorial collaboration of Lic. Paula Babici, faithfully restores the statue according to the original documentation and eyewitness testimony.
Each reproduction of this unique statue, crafted with noble materials in a strictly limited series, sustains the independence of this monument of historical-critical research.
Together, these undertakings — including Dr. Albornoz’s monumental critical biography of Sister Lúcia, the Bibliotheca Fatimologica, Studia Critica Fatimae, and the McGlynn–Sister Lúcia Project — form a single mission: to preserve and transmit the historical truth about Fátima with scientific rigor and complete independence.
