Corpus in Progress

The Corpus Historicum Fatimae Criticum is not an abstract project but a work in construction, with completed stages, works in progress, and projected publications.

1. What Has Been Completed

· 2018–2025: Constitution of the specialized archival bibliographic collection of the Corpus: one of the most complete private libraries on Fátima at the international level: the Bibliotheca Fatimologica.
Collection and systematization of primary and secondary sources on Fátima.

· September 2024: Defense of the Dr. Albornoz’s 1.100-page doctoral thesis at Babeș-Bolyai University (Cluj-Napoca), entitled Critical Biography of Sister Lúcia de Jesus Rosa dos Santos in Light of Her Correspondence (1921–1957), graded Magna cum Laude.

· October 2024–2025: Historical reconstruction of the statue of Our Lady of Fátima originally modeled by Thomas McGlynn under the guidance of Sister Lúcia in 1947: The Sister Lúcia-McGlynn Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This singular historical-artistic project became both a symbol of the Corpus and an initial means of financial support for the research.

· October 13, 2025 — Launch of the Corpus Historicum Fatimae Criticum website.

· October 31, 2025 — Publication of the inaugural issue of Studia Critica Fatimae, available free of charge upon prior registration. Simultaneous opening of pre-orders for the limited-edition Historical Reconstruction of the Sister Lúcia–McGlynn Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary—a work based on the original sculptural representation, which remains the only one ever personally supervised by Sister Lúcia herself.

2. Currently Underway

· Launch of the fundraising strategy for the systematic publication phase.
This includes the priority marketing of the
Sister Lúcia–McGlynn Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the active pursuit of sponsorships through direct outreach to institutions and potential benefactors.

· Preparation of the first volume of the CorpusCritical Biography of Sister Lúcia de Jesus Rosa dos Santos (1921–1957) — currently in editorial preparation. Its publication is planned for the first stage of the project (2025–2026).

· Preparation of critical essays on various topics related to Fátima, to be published in the journal Studia Critica Fatimae and as preliminary studies.

· Consolidation of the bibliographic and documentary archive: cataloging and systematization of unpublished or hard-to-access materials, forming the essential base for the upcoming volumes.

3. What Is to Come

· Systematic Publication of the Corpus Historicum: Completion and release of the remaining volumes, establishing the definitive critical reference on Fátima.

· Critical Translations & Popular Dissemination: Publication of multilingual editions of foundational Fátima texts. This initiative aims to make essential sources accessible to a global audience, ensuring the accurate historical facts reach both academic and public spheres.

· Sustainable Research & Publication Model: Implementation of an annual publication schedule, strategically paced to align with rigorous research standards and ensure financial sustainability.

· Active Scholarly Engagement: Continuous generation of high-quality content (including social media, monographs, and the Studia Critica Fatimae series) and organization of academic events to foster dialogue and disseminate findings.

· Digital Legacy Project: Creation of a public, online database of primary sources. This permanent digital archive will be launched upon completion of the critical editions within the Corpus, securing the project's long-term scholarly impact.
